Easter 2020

When I launched this website in mid January 2020, the year seemed full of promise. Little did we know of the huge, stressful, trying and sad challenges we would be facing during this spring. Life as we know it has ground to a halt. It is very difficult times for many across the globe. As an independent artist, small business owner in an economy that has been severely curtailed, I have some understanding of the acute challenges many people are facing. My own artistic activities and sales of my work have been impacted. I still have items for sale, but because of social distancing it is difficult to get to the community studio out of which I produce my work. I also find it a bit unseemly to engage in marketing of my work when so many are suffering emotional, physically and economically from this global pandemic.
I have been collaborating with a fellow potter, candle maker and I thought at this time we are all sheltering in place, I would offer these limited edition candles for sale. A candle provides warmth and light, and provides solace and comfort during a time of so much darkness. In a small way to give back and pay it forward, I will donate 25 percent of all sales in April to help some of our most vulnerable in our communities, those who are food insecure during this time when obtaining healthy food is even more challenging. I will donate these funds to two charities - www.feedamerica.org and www.feedontario.ca.
