Spider Web Bowl

This bowl has been thrown on the wheel in white stoneware.  After it has been trimmed, I sgraffito the spiderweb pattern into the still slightly soft clay.  It is bisqued and then a blue under glaze is rubbed into the shallow carved pattern.  I wipe it back and add a clear glaze to the bowl before it is fired for the second time.  This bowl is a great statement piece or perfect for a side dish or salad for 4-6 people.  It is food, dishwasher and microwave safe.   It can comfortably hold about 30 ounces of liquid with rooms to spare.
